The NE565N is a phase-locked loop. It is a self-contained, adaptable filter and demodulator for the frequency range from 0.001Hz to 500KHz. The circuit comprises a voltage-controlled oscillator of exceptional stability and linearity, a phase comparator, an amplifier and a low pass filter as shown in the block diagram. The applications of the NE565N include: frequency shift keying, modems, telemetry receivers, tone decoders, SCA receivers, wide-band FM discriminators, data synchronizers, tracking filters, signal restoration, frequency multiplication & division.
